Three Prominent ESMO Officers Shine in News Pages for Their Accomplishments in Cancer Research

10 May 2024

Tom Powles, Editor in Chief of ESMO’s flagship journal Annals of Oncology; Solange Peters, ESMO Past President; and Fabrice André, President Elect of the Society have been recognised as leading and influential researchers for their remarkable achievements in cancer care.

Tom Powles is counted as a Pioneer among the TIME 100 most influential people in health in 2024. Solange Peters and Fabrice André were recognised by peers in lung cancer and translational science, respectively, as Giants of Cancer Care, awarded by the US multimedia resource OncLive.

“ESMO acknowledges the profound significance of the contributions by these people, which makes ESMO’s role pivotal in shaping the future of cancer care,” says Keith H. McGregor, ESMO Chief Executive Officer.

“Working for an organisation whose leaders are broadly recognised for their remarkable achievements makes the value of the initiatives and programmes carried out by ESMO even more relevant for oncology professionals and the patients they care for,” he added.
