The ESMO Public Policy Committee represents the voice of medical oncology in global, regional and national policy-making, aiming to ensure that our members’ priorities are reflected in health policies around the world. Bringing together leading oncologists from across the globe and cancer specialisations, the Public Policy Committee leads ESMO’s efforts to shape policy and legislation that will impact upon the work of medical oncologists.

Activities and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the voice of medical oncologists is taken into account in policy-making;
  • Engage with policy-makers and stakeholders in the oncology space to ensure that cancer continues to be prioritised at all political levels;
  • Support the development of recommendations to decision-makers on cancer-related policies and legislation;
  • Lead ESMO’s relationships with international organisations and institutions active in the health policy domain.
