Kathi is the Vice President of ECPC-European Cancer Patient Coalition, the largest European cancer patients' organization, representing 347 associations in 47 EU and non-EU countries. ECPC works to ensure that all European cancer patients have timely and affordable access to the best treatment and care available, throughout their life.

As a twice breast cancer survivor, she was involved in breast cancer and cancer patient rights advocacy since 1995. She advocates for affordable, state-of-the-art cancer care, new therapies and cancer research.  Kathi believes that patient empowerment and education can lead to better patient outcomes and during her cancer patient advocacy years, she has actively sought to increase her knowledge, learn from peers, clinicians and researchers and share it with other cancer patients.

Kathi is frequently invited to speak, she writes and blogs (http://epatientgr.wordpress.com) about patient rights, participatory medicine, informed shared decision making, health technology assessment, e-health, innovation in healthcare, e-patients, always with a focus on cancer. She is a graduate in Classics and Political Science & Economics from the University of Athens and a Public Affairs Consultant by profession. The last few years she concentrates her activities in cancer patient advocacy on both the national and European front.

She represents ECPC at the EMA’s Patients and Consumers Working Group, she is member of the European Commission Expert Group on Cancer Control, participates as ECPC representative in Work Packages of  the EU Joint Action on Cancer Control (CanCon). She is a member of the  Cancer Patients Working Group of ESMO, of the Steering Committee of HTAi’s Patients and Citizens Involvement  Sub-Group.  At the national level, she is the Chair of the Intergroup Committee for Cancer Patient Rights Advocacy/Greece (DEDIDIKA), a body linking 28 cancer patient organizations, she serves as a Deputy Board Member at KEFI-Association of Cancer Patients, Volunteers and Physicians/Greece, and is also member of other Greek & international cancer patient associations.

Kathi is involved in e-health and m-health integration in cancer and health care; she is active in social media in healthcare and has served as member of the Strategic Committee for DigitalGreece2020; she is a co-founder of #opnhealth, a member of the Advisory Board and invited speaker of Doctors2.0 & You and a co-founder, scientific program developer and speaker of Patients in Power conference, a member of the Society for the Society for Participatory Medicine and a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow.
