To efficiently address the global cancer burden, it is imperative to improve prevention worldwide.

With a global cancer burden expected to rise to 29.5 million cases and 16 million deaths by 2040, it is key that oncology professionals are well-informed on all aspects of cancer care – including prevention.

Through a collaboration with the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), ESMO can offer oncology professionals education opportunities to

  • learn about emerging issues in science-based prevention
  • be trained on key prevention measures

enabling them to update their knowledge and provide guidance to their patients as well as to act as role models in their community.
