Annals of Oncology, ESMO’s flagship journal, just saw its impact factor soaring to 32.976, placing it firmly as the 7th most cited oncology journal, according to the 2021 Journal Citation Reports.
Also ESMO Open-Cancer Horizons, which obtained its first official impact factor just a year ago, boasts a 23% increased impact factor, now at 6.540.
The impact of the ESMO journals is not only a scientometrics index. They are also making an impact on the environment in which they operate: by shifting to mainly digital as of January 2022, Annals of Oncology is showing a strong commitment towards reducing its environmental footprint, making it a really “good” scientific journal.
