This ESMO guideline covers areas that make bone health in cancer patients of increasing clinical importance. Besides describing incidence, epidemiology and clinical consequences of bone metastases, the guideline provides recommendations in diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of bone metastases, metastatic prevention, management of cancer treatment-induced bone loss, safety aspects and special considerations in the elderly.
