Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera - VHIO MD-PhD fellowship program
Job Description
The 2025 call of the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera - VHIO MD-PhD fellowship program is now OPEN until 14 May 2025.
The program is aimed at Medical Doctors who want to pursue a PhD. The PhD project will be focused on fundamental biology at VHIO by combining basic research (80%) and clinical research (20%).
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have obtained a Medical Degree and the Spanish FSE (MIR - Medical Internship or residency) or an officially accredited as equivalent obtained in any EU country between 30th September 2020 and the contract starting date, which should be 1st October 2025 at the latest.
- Only MDs (MIR) are eligible. FIR, BIR candidates will not be considered.
- Candidates who have already been granted a similar PhD contract (such as “Río Hortega” Contracts) are not eligible.
- Candidates should have previous research experience and a strong commitment to scientific research.
- Candidates must have a solid knowledge of English.
Fellowships available:
- 1 fully funded fellowship available
- 3-year contract
- Gross Salary of 45.442.38€ per year
- A total gross of 21.000€ in concept of salary incentives for the 3-year period
Call calendar:
- Call opening: 9 April 2025
- Call deadline: 14 May 2025
- Oral interviews: Mid-June 2025
- Final results and candidate notifications: June 2025
- Start date of the fellowship: October 2025
