Andrea Sartore-Bianchi is medical oncologist at Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda in Milano, Italy, where he is director of the Division of Clinical Research and Innovation. He is also associate professor of oncology at the University of Milano (La Statale).
He received his MD and postgraduate degree in oncology at the University of Pavia, Italy, and subsequently conducted preclinical research at the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Cancer Therapeutics at Brown University, Providence, RI, USA.
Prof. Sartore-Bianchi’s main clinical and research interests include precision oncology and the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, focusing on biomarkers of sensitivity/resistance to molecular targeted therapies. He is principal and co-investigator in phase I-III clinical trials for solid tumours and carried out seminal studies regarding RAS and Her2 as tumor tissue and ctDNA biomarkers for guiding treatment in colorectal cancer.
He has published 185 peer-reviewed articles in various medical journals with an H-index of 60 (Scopus). He is included in the 2023 World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking by Stanford University (doi: 10.17632/btchxktzyw.6).
