Brigitte Autran

Prof Autran, MD, PhD, is Emeritus in Immunology at the Sorbonne-Université School of Medicine and conducts her research in the Centre of research in immunology and infectious diseases (Cimi-Paris, UMR Inserm/SU 1135). She has chaired the Department of Immunology of the University-Hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière for many years. In addition to this, she also has long-standing expertise in the immunology of viruses and vaccines, particularly in immune-suppressed individuals, with a worldwide recognised expertise on HIV. More recently she developed innovative research on the immunology of cancers associated with HIV and immunodepression, within her research group.
She has been a member of the French ministry board for vaccine recommendations and of the WHO global advisory committee on vaccine safety (GACVS) and is currently a member of the national scientific committees on Covid19 vaccines. She chairs the expert group on Monoclonal Antibodies against Covid19 at the french research agency on HIV, hepatitis and emerging diseases (ANRS-MIE).
