Dr Bruno Achutti Duso is a clinician scientist, with a medical residency in Internal Medicine (2014-2017), a Fellowship in Clinical Oncology (2017-2019), and a PhD in Molecular Oncology (2019-2023). He trained between Brazil, US, Italy, and France. Clinically, dedicated to breast cancer care and phase I-III clinical trials. Experienced in translational research using a myriad of platforms to investigate cancer genomics, epigenomics, immunotherapy, and the cytoskeleton. Coordinates or participates in numerous past and ongoing projects aimed at rationally implementing biomarkers in the clinics, including large European projects (2018 EraPermed PEVOsq, IMI2 - 2020 EPICO, PNRR-MAD-2022, 2023 MyPeBS). Active member of ESMO, ASCO, AACR, EACR, SITC and Cancer Core Europe. He joined Gustave Roussy in January 2024 with a dual appointment as a medical oncologist under the Breast Committee led by Dr. Barbara Pistilli, and as a senior researcher within the Interception Programme led by Dr. Suzette Delaloge and U981 INSERM, directed by Prof. Fabrice André. Within this vibrant, multidisciplinary environment, he has being building the Interception Translational Research Unit, aimed at: i) unravelling the mechanisms underlying cancer initiation, ii) developing innovative tools for early detection, and iii) ultimately predicting and preventing malignant transformation.
