The aim of the IMI public-private partnership is to speed up the development of better and safer medicines for patients by bringing together companies, universities, public laboratories, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), patient groups and regulators in collaborative projects. 

The grant application process

Grant application is a five-step process:

  1. Find a suitable Call for Proposal
  2. Find project partners (at least three legal entities in different Member States or associated countries)
  3. Obtain access to the IMI Electronic Submission System (SOFIA software tool)
  4. Register in the Beneficiary Register
  5. Submit your project proposal
