Palliative and Supportive Care

Korányi National Institute of TB and Pulmonology Staff, Budapest, Hungary

The palliative department of the Korányi National Institute of Pulmonology is an independent specialization unit of the hospital with a 24-bed capacity. The head physician of the palliative department is an experienced specialist in pulmonology and oncology, with personal experiences in both palliative and hospice care. Our thoracic oncologists consult patients, who are unsuitable for active treatment, personally with the head of the palliative department. They determine the most favourable form of treatment and care together with the patient and family members.
