Multidisciplinary activities through tumor committees underscore personalised patient care and quality. Teaching and ongoing education are integral due to the department's affiliation with a leading University Hospital. The department conducts translational research, bridging basic and applied research to deepen understanding of the oncological process, aligning with societal demands.

Palliative and Supportive Care

The palliative care unit focuses on the comprehensive care of the palliative patient. Education in care aimed at comfort, accompaniment and support in mourning has a fundamental role. We have a multidisciplinary team for psychological support to the family and/or main caregiver. Nursing is the cohesion between patient, doctor, social worker, psychologist, home support unit and referral nurse.
We work through Specific Sedation Protocols in Agony, to guarantee quality care in the last hours or days of life.
