Andreia Capela is a Portuguese Medical Oncologist, currently working at Unidade Local de Saúde Gaia e Espinho, where she is responsible for the promotor initiated clinical research since 2022. She graduated in Medicine from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2008), completed her Medical Oncology residency at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João (2015) and has been granted a Master degree in Palliative Care at the University of Lisbon (2019) with a thesis entitled “Physician's Grief”. Dr Capela has been actively involved in promoting Supportive and Palliative Care in Portugal, namely as the president of Associação de Investigação de Cuidados de Suporte em Oncologia (AICSO) - a Portuguese MASCC affiliate (2020-2024), and as the coordinator of the Supportive and Palliative Care Working Group from Sociedade Portuguesa de Oncologia (since 2022).
