Dr. Pearson is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He is Director of Data Sciences and Director of Head/Neck Cancer in the Section of Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Pearson is a leading voice in applying quantitative methods to cancer research. He is a member of multiple international research consortia for AI and mathematical oncology. He serves on the NIH National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council (NADCRC) for NIDCR data science strategy, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) AI in Oncology Task Force, and the University of Chicago President’s Counsel for AI strategy. His research integrates mathematical modeling and statistical genomics with laboratory data in order to understand cancer progression and propose more effective treatment combinations. Dr. Pearson’s research group has published numerous original research manuscripts at the interface of cutting edge computational science and oncology.
