COVID-19 regulations

To enter the congress venue, faculty, delegates, sponsors and staff will be required to show:

  • A certificate providing evidence of  full vaccination against COVID-19 with either the last dose of the primary vaccination having being administered  in the last 9 months or with a booster dose having being administered at any timepoint, with a vaccine approved by WHO (the list can be found here) OR
  • A certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the last 6 months

Additionally, for all it is requested:

  • Proof of negative PCR test not older than 72 hours or rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours.
  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory in the congress area

Please note that each faculty member, delegate, sponsor representative and staff, need to follow also the specific country COVID-19 regulations approved by the local authorities, if more restrictive than the ESMO regulations.

If there is a QR code on your documentation, any language is accepted. Otherwise, the documentation should be in English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish.

No, it is not required to take a new PCR test or rapid antigen test after 48h. It is needed to be shown only upon your arrival at the congress centre on your first day before picking-up your badge.

Yes. A dedicated ESMO Covid-19 Test Centre will be available onsite at the congress centre. Both PCR and antigenic rapid tests can be executed upon individual payment and are available without booking.

Yes, wearing a mask (FFP2 or medical) is mandatory at ESMO Breast Cancer 2022. Additionally, the below health and hygiene regulations will be applied on a daily basis:

  • Minimalize close contacts
  • Gel available for all delegates

Yes, ESMO recommends the following:

  • Check frequently your e-mail inbox for any urgent communication

Virtual platform login and access problems

Your email address is your username. If you have more than one email, make sure you use the email used to create your ESMO account. If you need assistance, please contact us.

  1. Go to esmo.org
  2. On the top right of the page, click Login
  3. Below the login box, click Forgot password
  4. Enter your email address and press Reset Password
  5. Check your email box or SPAM and click on the reset password link
  6. Create a new password

  • Clear your cookies and cache: If you experience any issues accessing the platform we suggest you clear your cookies and cache following the instructions found here (Chrome), here (Firefox), here (Safari) or here (Opera).
  • Internet browsers: For the best user-experience ESMO recommends the most recent version of Google Chrome, second to this would be Firefox, Safari and Opera. Internet Explorer is not recommended. Please note that ad blockers can prevent content from loading and new tabs from opening.
  • Bandwidth: While there are no access constraints on the virtual platform, it is recommended to have at least a 5mb/s connection for best results with live streaming.
  • Firewalls: Content is accessible by default without the need of a VPN. However, ESMO is not responsible for the restrictions of your institute or company internet provider, network or state. In those cases, the use of a VPN is possible, if in line with the legal conditions of your country, internet provider, company or institute.
  • Device: The virtual platform is accessible with any device that can connect to the internet through a browser. The experience is fully responsive for any device.

ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 is accessible to certified healthcare professionals, associated press, industry representatives and other stakeholders in the science, management, and prevention of oncological diseases. Registered participants will have access to all official sessions, industry sponsored symposia and exhibition. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Yes, you will be able to download and print your Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the online evaluation as of Thursday, 5 May, from 10.00 (CEST) until Thursday, 12 May at 10:00 (CEST). The ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 programme will be accredited with ESMO-MORA category 1 points.

ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 is an onsite and online congress, where delegates can decide to attend the congress in Berlin or follow in a virtual format.

The onsite Congress will take place from 3 to 5 May. Please consult the online programme for all details.

The Virtual Congress Platform opens on 2 May at 12:00 CEST.

Important note:

The congress ends on 5 May 2022. However, the platform remains available with the on-demand content and exhibition information until 9 May at 16:00 CEST.

The official programme sessions and industry satellite symposia will be available on-demand on the virtual platform until 9 May at 16:00 CEST, for all registered participants.  

Once the virtual platform is closed, on 9 May, the on-demand content will be transferred to OncologyPRO and will be accessible (where speaker permission is granted) immediately to all registered delegates for 24 months. ESMO Members who did not register for the Congress will have access to the resources 2 months after the end of the it.
Presentation slides and e-Posters will also be available on OncologyPRO for view and download.

Live Q&A feature will be available for most of the sessions according to the programme schedule (see online programme). Both online and onsite participants will be able to ask questions.

Programme activities, abstracts & e-Posters

All accepted abstracts will be available on the ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 website, in the online programme section and on the Congress virtual platform according to the following publication schedule:

  • Abstracts accepted for presentation as Oral (Suffix ‘O’), Mini Oral (suffix ‘MO’) and Poster (suffix ‘P’, ‘TiP’) will be released online at 12:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) on Monday, 2 May 2022.
  • Late-breaking abstracts (prefix ‘LBA’) will be released at the start of the official Congress session during which they are presented.
  • Abstracts selected for inclusion in the ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 Press Programme will be released online according to a dedicated schedule which will be made available 10 days before the congress.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 Abstract Book, a supplement to the official ESMO journal Annals of Oncology.

Hang your poster on the poster board in the exhibition area bearing your final publication number (FPN). A hostess will be available during this period to provide you with the necessary double-sided tape.

Wednesday, 4 May

Your presence is required in front of your poster to discuss your study with other participants and with the session Chair.

Thursday, 5 May

08:00-13:00 CEST

Remove your poster. Removal of all used tape would be highly appreciated. After 13:00 the Congress staff will remove and dispose all posters left on the boards.

PLEASE NOTE: The organisers do not bear any responsibility for returning uncollected material to the authors (poster or poster boxes).

Posters will remain on display for the duration of the Congress.

Presenters of e-Posters have been contacted by CTI Meeting Technology and provided details about the preparation and upload of their electronic posters (e-Posters).

The online programme is accessible via the ESMO website, online programme section. In the “Search” box at the top of the page items may be selected from options including session title, presentation title, final publication number, day, topic, presenter name or keyword.
The programme will also be available via the virtual platform as of 2 May.

These sessions will consist of a mix of live (onsite) and pre-recorded presentations.
Most of the sessions will also be followed by live discussion and Q&A, in which delegates can ask questions via a chat feature (if online). Once the presentations have terminated, the session chairs will lead and moderate the discussion having selected the most interesting or popular questions from the chat.

Posters will be on display in the exhibition area for the whole duration of the Congress.

e-Posters will also be available for view onsite at e-Poster stations from 3 May and on the virtual platform, in the e-Posters section, as of 2 May at 12:00 CEST.

The ESMO Breast Cancer 2022 programme will be submitted for ESMO-MORA category 1 points accreditation. Recertification is necessary for medical oncologists to remain professionally certified by ESMO. It also guarantees that a certified medical oncologist has continued to update her/his knowledge and still possess the necessary skills and standards for the practice of medical oncology.
