The primary objective of the ESMO Patient Seminar is to disseminate knowledge and encourage direct interaction and communication. The secondary objective is to maintain close collaboration with cancer leagues and patient groups to promote equal access to optimal cancer treatment and care.
The Seminar will be held in English and simultaneous translation is provided in the language(s) of the largest group(s) in attendance. The ESMO Patient Seminar is coordinated by the Patient Seminar Task Force and past editions have focused on doctor-patient communications, retrieving information on the Internet, patient empowerment, quality of care and rehabilitation. The 9th edition of the Seminar will cover a wide range of topics including Patient rights and obligations, quality of life issues and an update of the latest advances in the most common cancer types.
