Centre history

The ten bed Palliative Care Unit (PCU) was founded in 2008 and the Out-Patient specialized palliative-care team (Spezialisierte ambulante Palliativ Versorgung, SAPV-Team) was etablished in 2010. These services assist and serve palliative patients within the city area of Dresden.

Department profile

Between UCC and the Palliative Care Center there is a close cooperation, which is also closely connected to the University Pain Center (USC, Universitäts SchmerzCentrum).

Areas of specialisation

The medical oncology service is specialised, among others, in full spectrum of palliative Care, predominantly but not exclusively for patients with neoplastic diseases.

Palliative and supportive care


There is a close cooperation in supportive care with the UCC and participating hospitals involved in the treatment of neoplastic diseases areas such as gynaecology, urology, dermatology, surgery, head and neck, radiotherapy, etc.
