This is your opportunity to become a vital part of the UK's largest private healthcare provider HCA Healthcare. You will be working at The Christie Private Care in Manchester. This is a Joint Venture in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. It’s a dedicated Oncology unit rated by CQC as ‘outstanding’.

  • Location: The Christie Private Care – Manchester, United Kingdom
  • Salary Range: £58,014 - £71,095 dependent upon skills and experience
  • Fulltime: 42hr per week OR Part-time: 24hr or 36hr per week
  • Rota pattern: X3 12hour shifts per week, a combination of days and nights. With 6 hours of educational time, including opportunity for audit and governance activities. Please note these cover the private unit only
Summary of position

We have 4x exceptional career opportunities for doctors with a general medical background and ideally with oncology experience or interest. You will become part of our established resident team on a fixed or permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for Senior SHO/SpR level trained doctors to work alongside renowned consultants in their respective fields.

You will work as an integral part of the experienced and established resident team employed by HCA. You will be responsible for the daily medical needs of inpatients performing daily patient ward rounds. You will also clerk new planned and unplanned admissions, attend to medical emergencies and manage patients at the end of their life. The Consultant team you will be working with spans medical and clinical oncology, surgery and palliative care. You will also work as an integral part of the ward MDT which includes nursing staff, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and pharmacists.

Support for further development

There are opportunities for educational development including the CPD accredited HCA Oncology teaching programme. There are multiple self -directed options for additional learning in theatre, interventional radiology and outpatient clinics. There is a supported annual appraisal process.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has;
  • GMC registration and MBCHB medical qualification
  • At least 6 months experience working in the NHS
  • Completion of Foundation training and at least one further year of medical experience
  • ALS trained
  • Oncology/Acute Medicine experience
  • MRCP or equivalent
