BC Cancer is looking for a Medical Oncologist to join its Kamloops Satellite Clinic team, operated by BC Cancer – Kelowna and located in British Columbia’s Southern Interior Region. Reporting to the Department Head of Medical Oncology located at BC Cancer – Kelowna, the Medical Oncologist will be part of a well-established team of three Medical Oncologists in Kamloops, and more broadly, within the provincial structure for oncology care. You will use your extensive experience and qualifications to provide oncology consultation, patient care, teaching, and research, and participate in case discussions through the provincial tumour group support and tumour board conferences. Welcome to Kamloops!
Kamloops is located in British Columbia’s interior, and is a city for every season. Nearby to the deep powder snow of Sun Peaks ski resort, the area is an amazing winter playground for snow sports enthusiasts. Equally fantastic as a summer destination for water sports, beaches, golfing, plus year-round outdoor pursuits like fishing, hiking, and camping, Kamloops offers opportunities to make the most of the hot summer climate. This is small town lifestyle perfect for families and those looking for adventure, and it comes with a “side” of urban convenience through a vibrant arts and culture scene, plenty of shopping venues, wineries, craft breweries, and tempting cuisine at local restaurants and cafés. Kamloops is a 4-hour drive to Vancouver (depending on weather conditions), with air travel out of Kamloops Regional Airport.

As the successful candidate, you will have obtained, or are working towards, Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. You must also be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Medical Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. In addition, applicants must be eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and for appointment to the Medical Staff at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops.
