Job Description

Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) has two full-time Fellowship positions for medical oncology trainees, RACP Fellows or overseas equivalents. These Fellowships will start in February 2025 and be for one year in duration.

These clinical positions will provide a unique opportunity for the right individuals to learn the skills for optimal clinical management of medical oncology patients with melanoma and complex skin cancer. Fellows will also obtain training in clinical trials, clinical research and immunotherapy treatment for melanoma and complex skin cancer patients in a multi-disciplinary, clinical and translational research environment.

MIA is an independent, not-for-profit research institute located in North Sydney (NSW, Australia). The Institute is affiliated with the University of Sydney and collaborates with clinicians at various hospitals in Sydney. Our dynamic and high-volume multidisciplinary team sees approximately 500 new patients each year and lead a large number of clinical trials of novel agents, including investigator-initiated clinical and translational studies. The Institute has become a major referral center in Australia, and the care and research conducted by the Institute is widely regarded as world-class.

These positions will involve participation in outpatient multidisciplinary melanoma care and complex skin cancer, strong involvement in the day to day management of patients with melanoma and complex skin cancer, as well as medical oversight of medical oncology clinical trials. The right candidate can also participate in the conduct of clinical research projects and programs. Fellows have the opportunity to participate in the academic activities of the Institute, including leading research projects for presentation at a major international conferences and publication in high-ranking journals.

Applicants need to have recent experience working in Medical Oncology (or Dermato-oncology for German/Swiss candidates) in a formal training program or have completed training. Appropriate regulatory assistance will be given to facilitate the best overall candidates. Base salary of AUD $133,834.00 p.a.
