Hongcheng Zhu

Dr. Hongcheng Zhu is a radiation/clinical oncologist from Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, Shanghai, China. He obtained his medical degree in 2013 and PhD in 2017 from Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China. He subsequently joined Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center in Shanghai, where he completed his radiation oncology residency in 2019 and has been engaged in the radiation oncology fellowship program ever since. He interests in clinical and traditional research for thoracic cancers, including esophageal and lung cancers.
He has rich publications of his research field including original articles, reviews, comments and book chapters, and has been served as associate or assistant editors of journals or books. He has abundant experience of international conferences or courses. His original research been published by renowned journals in related field, including Inter J Radiat Oncol Bio Phys, Radiother Oncol, Cancer Lett, Transl Lung Cancer Res, et al. He has been the principal investigator of several transitional oncology research projects with funds from various sources. He has also been active in several phase II or phase III clinical trials, including the ESO-Shanghai series.
His academic accolades include participant of ESMO Translational Unit Visit Fellowship 2018 in Naples, Italy, graduate of the first class of ESMO Leaders Generation Program Asia 2019 in Singapore, recipient of CSCO Young Investigator Award 2020, participant of ASCO Journals Editorial Fellowship 2021, as well as awarded the Certification of Advanced Studies of Lung Cancer by ESO and University of Zurich in Switzerland 2022. He has been the Ambassador of EACR since 2018, the member of ESMO Membership Committee since 2021 and the member of ESMO Young Oncologists Committee since 2022.
