Dr B. Brasiuniene is graduated Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas and medical oncology residency at the same university. Post university internships at Rostock University (Germany), University of Heidelberg (Germany), University Hospital Beaujon (France) and Dana Faber Cancer Institute (US).
PhD theses „Effect of combined treatment methods on survival and quality of life in patients with pancreatic cancer“ in 2006 at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
Practical experience in the field of medical oncology - 20 years working in the University hospitals of Lithuania, five of them practice in France. From year 2016 she is Head of the Depart. of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania. The main areas of interest - innovative treatment of gynecological cancers, breast cancer, melanoma.
Doctor is associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, co-author of scientific publications. Also she is a chair of the scientific committee of Lithuanian Journal “Onkologija” for oncologists; medical consultant of Lithuanian journal “Rožinis gyvenimas” (“Pink life”) for breast cancer women and active participant in different social and educational initiatives supporting cancer patients.
Dr B. Brasiuniene is a member of ESMO, board member of the Society of Lithuanian oncologists, member of the Lithuanian Society for Medical Oncology, of Scientific Committee of NSGO-CTU (Nordic Society of Gynecological Oncology Clinical Trial Unit) and a member of gynecological cancer and melanoma groups of EORTC.
