Dr. Marco Colleoni graduated from Medical School at the State University of Milan in 1987, and obtained his Specialization degree in Oncology and Experimental Endocrinology.

He is Director of the Division of Medical Senology at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan, Italy.

The area of Medical Senology creates and conducts a structure for excellence in patient care, by providing comprehensive care of all the types and phases of breast cancer with active clinical and translational research, integrating outpatient and in-patient areas through a common support.

Dr. Colleoni is currently Chairman of the Executive of the IBCSG Scientific Committee, as well as being a member of the Executive Committee of the Foundation Council.

Having direct responsibility in research programs directed to develop personalized and innovative treatment plans, he served as the Study Chair of phase II as well as international large randomized phase III trials focusing on the treatment of breast cancer in all the disease settings. He has authored approximately 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Colleoni was Chair of Breast cancer, early stage Track at the ESMO 2016 Congress having served in other Breast cancer tracks in previous ESMO meetings.
