Andrew completed his medical training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, London. Following completion core training in Internal Medicine, he underwent specialist training in Medical Oncology at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

In 2013, he joined the laboratory of Sergio Quezada and Karl Peggs and spent 4 years studying Cancer Immunology at University College London Cancer Institute.  During this time he studied the immunological landscape of human tumours and made fundamental contributions to current understanding of the mechanisms underlying the activity of immune modulatory antibody-based therapies.

His findings have been published in high impact journals including Cancer Cell, Immunity and Science and his efforts have been recognised with a number of awards including the Association of Cancer Physicians McElwain prize and Cancer Research UK Translational Research Prize. 

He is passionate about making tangible improvements for patients and plans to achieve this through a career combining Medicine and Science.

He is a faculty member of the ESMO Tumour Immunology and Immunotherapy group and sits on the scientific committee for this year’s Immuno-Oncology Congress in Geneva.
