Joakim Crona MD, PhD is associate professor in molecular oncology and clinical oncologist affiliated to Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. He received his MD in Uppsala in 2011 and a PhD in cancer genomics from Uppsala University in 2011. He is chair of the ESMO Climate Change Task Force and co-organizer of the Train-to-ESMO initiative.
His research focuses on clinical and translational aspects of endocrine tumour disease. During his career he has co-authored more than 40 articles and presented more than 30 conference abstracts. Beyond his traditional physician-research career Joakim is now working actively to prevent cancer by working closely with professional societies and democratic institutions.
