Gabor Liposits (1982) is a clinical oncologist graduated from the Medical School, University of Pecs in Hungary in 2006. His training in clinical oncology was completed in Hungary, since 2012 he has been working in Norway and in Denmark. He completed the ESMO examination in 2015 and International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) Advanced Course in Geriatric Oncology in 2017. From 2018 he served the Young SIOG government as a member, presented research proposals, and was author/co-author of several Young SIOG publications. He also serves several journals (Journal of Geriatric Oncology, Critical reviews in Hematology and Oncology, Acta Oncologica, The Oncologist) as a reviewer.
He has been working at the Western Hospital Trust in Denmark since 2017, as a senior consultant oncologist and implemented patient reported outcomes measures (PROMs) based geriatric oncology screening at the department. In 2020, Regional Hospital West Jutland has been recognized as an ESMO designated center of integrated oncology and palliative services, Gabor Liposits was co-applicant in the process.
Beside his clinical work, he started his PhD at the Department of Oncology, Odense University Hospital and at the Department of Clinical Research at the University of Southern Denmark in September 2020. He is investigating quality of life, biomarkers, prognostic and predictive factors and body composition/sarcopenia in vulnerable older adults with metastatic colorectal cancer receiving chemotherapy.
Since 2021, Gabor Liposits serves the ESMO Practising Oncologist Working Group and the Designated Centers Working Group as a member.
