Dario Trapani, MD, is a medical oncologist from Milan, Italy. Dr Trapani received his training in medical oncology at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO), under the mentorship of Professor G. Curigliano, as resident of the University of Milan. He has collaborated with the World Health Organization as a consultant of the cancer team, supporting the development of projects for the global cancer control for 2 years. Presently, Dr Trapani is a research fellow at IEO, committed to clinical and research projects within the phase 1 clinical Unit of the institution. He is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Italian association of medical oncology (AIOM), the European school of oncology (ESO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), showing constant enthusiasm and participation spirit for different educational sessions of high cultural interest. He has participated in several meetings, including speaking positions, he has supported the track chairs for the organisation of multiple international meetings, and contributed to the realisation of technical workshops for WHO and ESMO. He serves ESMO in different committees and working groups, committed to emphasise the value of healthcare in the selection and prioritisation of medicines. In addition, he is part of the reviewers’ body of several oncology journals and editorial boards.
