Dr. Mary Claire Vega-Soliman is the current President of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology and is the Head of the Tumor Clinic of East Avenue Medical Center. She is a Fellow of various national societies such as the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, Philippine College of Physicians, Philippine Society of Oncology and Molecular Oncology Society of the Philippines, and a member of various international medical societies including the European Society of Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer to name a few. She currently practices at St. Luke’s Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Jecson’s Medical Center, and Central Luzon Doctors’ Hospital.

Dr Soliman completed her ­­fellowship in medical oncology at St. Luke’s Medical Center and residency in Internal medicine at East Avenue Medical Center. She is the Head of the Section of Medical Oncology and the chairperson of the Department of Health’s Breast Cancer Medicine Access Program at East Avenue Medical Center.

She was part of the technical working group as an expert consultant for the configuration of different programs and clinical practice guidelines in cancer of the Department of Health and Philippine Health Insurance Commission. Her collaboration with the government and various stakeholders allows her to address health care issues on equity, accessibility and coverage. Through her practice, she has made it her life-long commitment to bring oncology health care within arm’s reach to the underprivileged in the Philippines.
