ESMO – SASMO: Membership Agreement

ESMO and the South African Society of Medical Oncology (SASMO) signed a joint membership agreement in 2017. The aim of the agreement is to promote education and scientific initiatives to the South African oncology community.

ESMO – SASMO Agreement

Since February 2017, members of the SASMO are welcome to join ESMO along with their national society and get access to more valuable educational resources and opportunities.

The annual ESMO membership fee for members in South Africa is now waived, due to South Africa being classified by the World Bank as an upper-middle income country, based on the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita and calculated using the World Bank Atlas method.

If you are already an ESMO and a SASMO member, please contact the ESMO Membership Services who will update your profile with the information about your SASMO membership.

New ESMO member?

Applicants should follow the normal ESMO membership procedure, on reaching the section asking for membership to another professional oncology society, SASMO members should indicate they are a member of SASMO by clicking on the society name.

Useful Information about joining ESMO

NOTE: Membership applications must be made to each respective society satisfying membership requirements according to the society statutes. Any membership fees are paid separately to the respective secretariats of ESMO and the SASMO.
