Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) - YY Study Grants

Fellowship type

The YY Study Grants provide an important opportunity to advance cancer research through international collaboration. Their purpose is to enable individuals from any country to carry out cancer research projects abroad and including the opportunity to receive further training in research methods or techniques. Since its inception in 1972, the YY Study Grant programme has contributed to the professional capacity development of over 330 Fellows from over 40 countries.

Job Description

  • Target candidates: Researchers, clinicians, epidemiologists, public health professionals
  • Duration: Three months
  • Extension: Up to three months with funding secured by the fellow from other sources and at no cost to UICC
  • Available: Four to five YY Study Grants
  • Average value: US$ 10,000
  • Research type: Basic, translational, public health or applied cancer research
  • Notification of results: December 2023

Training Experience Required

  • Possess PhD (or equivalent degree*) at least 2 years prior to the application closing date of the YY Selection applied for.
  • Actively engaged in cancer research.
  • Recent publications in the international peer-reviewed literature.
