Translational Research Working Group

The Translational Research Working Group (TRWG) seeks to increase the pace of the translation of basic science discoveries into clinical studies and practice in order to further improve the care of cancer patients.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Addressing the need to adapt innovative clinical trial strategies and train medical oncologists how to use and evaluate them
  • Arranging courses and scientific meetings in translational research
  • Organizing educational activities and symposia at ESMO Congresses
  • Offering a career program that awards translational research grants
  • Editing the ESMO Handbook of Translational Research

Structure

  • Chair appointed by the Executive Committee after consultation with the previous Chair
  • Six (6) to nine (9) members are proposed by the Chair to the ESMO Executive Committee for approval for a period of three (3) years and can be re-nominated
