Prof. Yalcin's main interests are gastrointestinal tumors, neuroendocrine tumors,
gastrointestinal stromal tumors, supportive care and clinical cancer research.
Prof. Yalcin finished at Hacettepe University
Medical School
in 1989, and became a specialist in internal medicine in 1993, and medical
oncologist in 1995. He was appointed as
an Assistant Professor in 1997, Associate
Professor in 1998 and Full Professor in 2004. He is currently the Vice-Director of the
Hacettepe University Oncology Hospital.
Prof. Yalcin has been involved in many clinical
and basic cancer research projects and has published more than 50 articles in
the SCI- exp journals and cooperated in many multi-institutional and international
clinical trials. He is the General Secretary of Turkish Oncology Group, and the
General Secretary of the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control.
He is also a Member of the Executive Committee for the Turkish Medical Oncology
Association.
