Prof. Maciej
Krzakowski is a specialist in the field of medical oncology
as well as radiotherapy. He is involved in the treatment of solid tumors
(breast cancer, lung cancer and other thoracic tumors).
Prof. Maciej Krzakowski
is Chair of the Lung and Thoracic Tumors Department at the Maria
Sklodowska-Curie Memorial Cancer Centre and the Institute
of Oncology in Warsaw, Poland.
His main interest is in more optimal
methods of combining chemotherapy and radiotherapy for lung cancer, as well as
the more individualized methods of systemic therapies in solid tumors.
He has published over 160 papers in local
and international medical journals, member of scientific boards of numerous medical
journals and Editor of the Journal of Clinical Oncology – Polish Edition.
Prof. Maciej Krzakowski is also a member of
the Polish Society of Oncology, the Polish Society of Clinical Oncology (Vice-President),
American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Society for Medical Oncology, Multinational
Association of Supportive Care in Cancer and since 1999 Chief Country Medical
Oncologist (National Consultant).
