Dr. Roy Bremnes graduated from The
University of Tromsų School of Medicine in 1984. He defended his PhD in
medicine in 1991 with the thesis "Pharmacokinetics, hepatotoxicity, and drug
interaction of methotrexate and 7-hydroxymethotrexate in a rat model". Dr. Roy
Bremnes was granted full professorship in medicine (oncology) in 2000.
Clinically and research-wise his main interests are within malignancies in lung
and testis cancer.
He serves on the Board of the
Swedish-Norwegian Testicular Cancer Research Group SWENOTECA and the Norwegian
Lung Cancer Study Group. Presently he is tutor of six PhD students (MDs) within
these fields. Medical education and teaching medical students are also among
his main interests.
For the time being, he serves as Chair of
The Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tromsų.
