Vasile Musteata, MD, PhD
holds the position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology,
Oncology and Military Therapy of the State Medical and Pharmaceutical
University "N. Testemitanu" in Moldova.
He is a Supplies Manager and Coordinator for the International
Cooperation Activities in the university department. Dr. V. Musteata is also an
Attending Physician to the 1st Hematology Division of the Institute of Oncology.
He also passed his internship on Hematooncology at the Department of Hematology
and Oncology, Krankenhaus Moabit (Berlin) in 1998 and the AAF-OSI Medical
Internship Program on Oncology/Hematology at the Division of Hematology and
Oncology, Innsbruck University Clinic in 2000.
Since joining the European
Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in 2000, Dr. Musteata has been involved in various ESMO projects. Besides these ESMO activities, Dr. Musteata
is a member of the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), and a Member
of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Balkan Union of Oncology (B.U.O.N). He has also reviewed a series of articles for
the Leukemia and Lymphoma Journal.
From 2003 to 2007 Dr. Musteata had been a member of
the organizing committees of several regular national and international
scientific conferences and congresses, especially in the field of hematology
and oncology. Also from 2000 to 2005 he was a recipient of the Educational
Material Grant from the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meetings, where
he was awarded on behalf of the ASH Ad Hoc Committee on International Outreach.
In 2006 he had an active part in the TEMPUS-TACIS
„PROBMEDFORM" Project and CBCR-Seminars, L'Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano (Italy). Also in 2006, Dr. Musteata was
awarded the AIOM-Young Investigator Award (Italy) and on behalf of the
Government of the Republic of Maldova the Award for Youth in the Domain of
Sciences, Technology and Literature. Dr. Musteata is an author and co-author of
59 publications in international
peer-reviewed periodicals.
