Dr. Alvydas Česas graduated from the Medical
Faculty of Kaunas Medical Academy (Lithuania) in 1993. In 1995 he was
appointed Head of the Chemotherapy Department, Oncology Division, at the Kalipeda Hospital. He then trained in Medical
Oncology and was certified as a physician in 1993 and as a medical oncologist
in 1996.
His professional
training includes the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Course on
Clinical Oncology (1998), European
School of Oncology (ESO)
Masterclass Course on Clinical Oncology, ESMO Course on Lung Cancer (2004),
Mediterranean Course on Colorectal Cancer (2005) and the EDS Course on Abdominal
Malignancies (2007).
His main interests are breast, lung and
colorectal cancer. Dr. Alvydas Česas has a wide experience in
scientific research with 18 clinical trials and 11 principal investigators.
He has published abstracts and poster
presentations in international conferences. He has also given presentations at
the Mediterranean Course on Colorectal Cancer 2005, Baltic States Breast Cancer
Conference 2005, EDS Course on Abdominal Surgery and he has co-authored publications
in the European Journal of Cancer 2005 and Annals of Oncology 2006. Dr. Alvydas Česas
has also published 28 scientific papers in
Lithuanian Oncological and internal medicine journals and supplements. He has
been invited as a speaker to many symposiums and conferences.
Dr. Alvydas Česas is also President of the Lithuanian
Society for Medical Oncology, an ESMO member and a member of CECOG
(prostate cancer committee)
