Dr.
Timcheva is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), European
Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), European Association
for Cancer Research (EACR), and Balkan Union of Oncology (B.U.ON). She is also
a member of various national oncology societies, and a member of the expert
panel in creating the Bulgarian National Guidelines for the systemic treatment
of solid tumors. Dr. Timcheva is also involved with a number of advisory boards
and she is the Head of the Chemotherapy Clinic at the National Center of
Oncology - Sofia since 2000. She has a Medical Degree from the High Medical
Institute, Medical Academy, Sofia.
Dr.
Timcheva obtained three post-graduate medical specialties: Internal Diseases
(1987), Oncology (1994), Medical oncology, ESMO certified (2003). She earned
her doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) from the Institute
of Physics and Chemistry in Moscow in 1981. Dr. Timcheva
is an associate professor in oncology since 1997.
Dr.
Timcheva has more than 25 years of clinical experience in the treatment of
solid tumors and provides education for medical oncology, where she has been an
active speaker for the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) courses.
Dr.
Timcheva has published more than 50 articles and many abstracts including being
the co-author of 5 oncology monographs.
Dr.
Timcheva is a principal investigator of more than 20 clinical trials, including
the Cancer International Research Group (CIRG), Breast International Group (BIG),
and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC)
projects.
