Future objectives

Expanding our mission

ESMO is eager to broaden its role in oncology through multidisciplinary programs which foster collaboration between different specializations within the Society, such as medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, pediatric oncology, oncology nursing, oncology pharmacy and basic research.

Improving our services

ESMO is expanding its services and programs for members and fostering closer partnerships with patient groups, and other professional oncology societies, to meet the challenge of providing better ways of preventing and treating cancer.

Strengthening our commitment

ESMO acknowledges the acceleration of new technologies and the need for a global approach to cancer treatment based on communication and collaboration. As part of the multidisciplinary oncology team, medical oncologists follow patients through all stages of treatment. The international ESMO network remains strong in its commitment to share information and to support equal access to optimal healthcare treatment and facilities for all cancer patients.
