ESMO Membership Survey

The ESMO Membership Survey is designed to evaluate the benefit of ESMO activities and events with special regards to:

• Professional profile of ESMO members
• Role of ESMO National Representatives
• Need for the recognition of oncology and medical oncology
• National guidelines on cancer
• Educational activities, including the ESMO congresses
• ESMO Newsletter and Web site

Goal

• Identifying and understanding the strengths, weaknesses, and areas of necessary improvement within ESMO regarding its mission to promote and defend the specialty of medical oncology and to provide post-graduate education and training to medical oncologists
• Gaining a better understanding of the IT infrastructure and computer knowledge of ESMO members in order to provide appropriate and accessible online services
• Establishing further evidence of the need to recognize medical oncology as an independent specialty worldwide

The ESMO Head Office prepared the questionnaire

ESMO members completed the survey which was later statistically analyzed by a young medical oncologist
