ASCO-ESMO Consensus Statement on Quality Cancer Care

The ASCO-ESMO Consensus Statement on Quality Cancer Care is a joint document made up of 10 points outlining goals to provide access to and continuity of quality cancer care worldwide.

Goals

  • Setting the standard for the essential components of quality cancer care for policy makers, physicians, nurses and other health care personnel
  • Reducing discrepancies in patients' access to health care services, high quality cancer care, innovative drugs, clinical trials, multidisciplinary care, pain management, palliative care, information, access to medical records
  • Improving patients' autonomy
