European Commission Communication: ESMO position statement on the 'Consultation regarding Community Action on Health Services'

The ESMO position statement on the 'Consultation regarding Community Action on Health Services' is a document providing overall considerations and specific responses by ESMO to nine questions regarding cross-border healthcare in EU Member States.

All interested parties concerned by health and EU actions regarding health services had the opportunity to contribute to this broad consultation.

The European Commission will evaluate the responses when considering future proposals or legislation on cross-border healthcare. Taking into consideration the specificities of cancer and cancer treatments, ESMO considered it important to contribute to this consultation.

As the topic of community action on health services will be discussed during the next few months within the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Ministers, ESMO will have the opportunity to continue to contribute to the debate.
