ESMO media policy
ESMO welcomes media interested in cancer issues. The following policy applies to the ESMO Congress, the ESMO Conference Lugano and the ESMO International Symposia (collectively 'ESMO Event').
Media registration
A Press badge will be issued upon presentation of an official press card or a letter of assignment for recognized:
• Journals, magazines, news publications
• News agencies
• Broadcast media
• Information officers for academic institutions, scientific societies, or registered medical research charities
Representatives engaged in the following are NOT entitled to a Press badge but may register as regular congress participants:
• Public relations
• Sales and marketing
• Advertising
• Pharmaceutical companies
The Press Room is only open to registered members of the working press. Identification will be required.
ESMO reserves the right to refuse a Press badge or to bar from any meeting any person who provides false information about their affiliation.
Access and facilities
Those with a Press badge are entitled to attend:
• All sessions listed in the Event Program (except ticketed sessions)
• The Press Conferences
• The Event Exhibition
Registered media representatives will be able to work in the Press Room equipped with telephones, fax, electrical outlets for laptop computers and online access.
ESMO press releases, abstracts, and other relevant information will be available.
Corporate materials and product information will NOT be distributed in the Press Room but will be on display on a stand close to it.
Interview rooms will be available upon request, using the booking form available in the Press Room.
Embargoes
Journalists are required to observe embargoes as indicated, by the date and time of the presentation. Thank you!
Advance registration and Congress details
On-site registration is possible, however, advance registration is strongly recommended.
