Proactive in public affairs in Brussels, ESMO’s political initiatives aim to promote the profession of medical oncology and keep cancer policy high on the European healthcare agenda.

Recognized as an authoritative voice in the fight against cancer, ESMO is pleased to offer consultative expertise to oncology organizations and European authorities on important issues related to cancer research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

ESMO political initiatives include, among others, debates on healthcare inequalities, cancer policy briefings and statements, advocacy for EU recognition of the specialty of medical oncology and collaboration with EU Presidencies.
