Patients are the driving force and inspiration behind oncology related events, ESMO’s educational programs, and the reason why oncologists are constantly pushing the edge of science to revise existing therapies and find new treatment options.

Patient activities fulfill one of ESMO's most important objectives - to disseminate knowledge to cancer patients, their caregivers, advocacy groups and the public. Patient advocacy allows ESMO to support and promote equal access to optimal cancer treatment and care.

Besides organizing educational programs such as a dedicated Patient Seminar during the ESMO Congress, and a patient track during the European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress, ESMO strives to continually provide patients with useful information and updates.

• ESMO Media Library offers on-demand access to expert  interviews with professionals and patient advocacy groups
• ESMO Patient Seminar is an international forum for patients, their families and caregivers to learn about their disease, to exchange ideas and to share best practices and experiences
