Translational Research Fellowships

Deadline Applications for 2012 are now closed

 

The Translational Research Fellowships are designed to:

  • Provide training in translational research in European centers with an international reputation in the field
  • Improve career development through collaboration with European institutions of excellence
  • Provide the necessary support to develop specific high-quality translational research projects in oncology

Amount and Duration

  • 35,000€  for 1 year
  • Second year prolongation, including additional 35,000€, upon request and subsequent approval
  • Host institutes receive 1,000€ for administration costs

Number of Fellowships

  • 3 Translational Research Fellowships are available in any cancer research area.
  • 2 Translational Research Fellowships are available in one of the following areas: Pancreas, Colorectal, Ovarian, Breast, or Bone metastases

Application Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be an ESMO member (or apply for membership)
  • Be an oncologists with at least 1 year experience in medical, radiation, or surgical oncology
  • Be under the age of 40
  • Be proficient in English


The candidate’s supervisors in both the host and home institute should be Full ESMO members.

Application must include:

  • Completed online application form
  • Digital photograph
  • Detailed description of research project proposal including timeline
  • Brief statement of project goals and how the acquired techniques will be used in the home institute/country
  • Name of host institute and acceptance letter from the person responsible for the project at the host facility
  • Letter of recommendation from the candidate’s department head

Important: All applications must be submitted in English; incomplete applications will not be accepted
