Translational Research Fellowships

The Translational Research Fellowships are designed to:
- Provide training in translational research in European centers with an international reputation in the field
- Improve career development through collaboration with European institutions of excellence
- Provide the necessary support to develop specific high-quality translational research projects in oncology
Amount and Duration
- 35,000€ for 1 year
- Second year prolongation, including additional 35,000€, upon request and subsequent approval
- Host institutes receive 1,000€ for administration costs
Number of Fellowships
- 3 Translational Research Fellowships are available in any cancer research area.
- 2 Translational Research Fellowships are available in one of the following areas: Pancreas, Colorectal, Ovarian, Breast, or Bone metastases
Application Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be an ESMO member (or apply for membership)
- Be an oncologists with at least 1 year experience in medical, radiation, or surgical oncology
- Be under the age of 40
- Be proficient in English
The candidate’s supervisors in both the host and home institute should be Full ESMO members.
Application must include:
- Completed online application form
- Digital photograph
- Detailed description of research project proposal including timeline
- Brief statement of project goals and how the acquired techniques will be used in the home institute/country
- Name of host institute and acceptance letter from the person responsible for the project at the host facility
- Letter of recommendation from the candidate’s department head
