Translational Research Unit Visit

Topic

Translational Research:

  • Aim to teach young oncologists all about carrying out and enjoying translational research.
  • Fellows will be shown around the facilities.
  • Explained about the hurdles and how to tackle them.
  • Meet preclinical and clinical people and make them even more motivated for Translational research.
  • The above will be illustrated through the following themes of the day: Molecular imaging, Long term toxicity and early (pre)clinical trials, Microenvironment, infiltration and metastasis of tumor cells and several aspects of gynecological oncological trials.

Translational Research Unit (TRU) Visits are educational events for young oncologists that provide crucial practical information on how translational research is performed.
The visits focus on important issues such as, technology, project history, project management, funding, relations with clinicians, and quality control.

Amount and Duration

  • 1,000€  for a 3-4 day visit

Number of Fellowships

Up to 2-3 TRU Visits are available per year. Participation is limited to 4–8 fellows per visit.

Application Requirements

  • ESMO membership (or membership applicants)
  • Under 40 years of age
  • Be proficient in English
  • Candidates cannot have previously participated in a TRU Visit

Applications must include:

  • Curriculum vitae and digital photograph
  • Motivation letter
