The ESMO Foundation channels much-needed funds into a range of activities, with the ultimate aim of making the best treatment available to every cancer patient. The Foundation provides a platform for improving the care received by cancer patients in Europe and beyond. It moves ESMO closer to its dream of making certain that no one with cancer receives less than the best possible care.

Like ESMO itself, the Foundation's aims are to advance the art, science, and practice of medical oncology, and to disseminate that knowledge as widely as possible. It will support ESMO activities such as organizing conferences, developing training courses, publishing journals, books, and guidelines, awarding fellowships and providing seminars for patients and their relatives.

The ESMO Foundation offers numerous possibilities for individuals, corporations and charitable organizations to help support its work in cancer prevention, education and research. For this, ESMO expresses its gratitude to all donors and also encourages continued generous support, which is crucial for societies like ESMO to be able to meet their responsibilities.

Donations

Donations by individuals or corporations can vary considering their amount, periodicity and use.

Single donation: any single amount offered to the ESMO Foundation adds up to make a substantial difference in the fight against cancer.

Regular donation: any regular donation to the ESMO Foundation is a guarantee for ESMO Foundation to get a regular annual support.

Restricted donations: the donors offer this way their support to specific activities they will select or define in close collaboration with the ESMO Foundation.

Unrestricted donations: the donors offer this way a flexible support to different projects depending on the current needs defined by ESMO Foundation and not the donor.

Social and benefit events

The ESMO Foundation can organize social and benefit events that corporations are ready to support. The role and conditions of participation of the corporations are strictly defined along the talks.

Gala Concert Stockholm 2008

The next important event will be the Gala Concert in Stockholm during the ESMO Congress (September 2008).

ESMO Foundation will offer its support and develop collaborations and activities with ESMO as the principal beneficiary.

Other beneficiaries are natural persons and legal entities involved in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care and information of people with malignant diseases and their closest relatives.

The beneficiaries will be appointed by the Board of Trustees.

Beneficiaries of grants need to apply according to the conditions described above.
