ESMO is pleased to be an official partner of the prestigious ‘Flims’ Workshop, an endeavour in line with our strategic goal to facilitate cancer research in Europe by enabling young researchers to learn from top experts how to design effective therapeutic clinical trials.

Target audience

Junior clinical oncologists specializing in any oncology subspecialty

Workshop goals

- To learn the principles of good clinical trial design and obtain the tools required to conduct trials that yield clear results
- To explore the full spectrum of challenges in clinical research
- To develop a well-trained cadre of experienced researchers

Selection process

Up to eighty (80) participants will be selected through a competitive application process to participate in this week-long program.  Selection criteria include:

1.    Quality and feasibility of proposed protocol concept and letters of support
2.    Individual path career in medical training and competence in clinical cancer research
3.    Support from relevant or home institute to help conduct the trial

All selected candidates will have access to the FLIMS Intranet where all educational workshop materials and logistical information will be posted.

Workshop participation: fee and grants

All successful participants will be charged a participation fee of 2,000 Euros which  includes all local VAT taxes.
