ESMO opportunities for young oncologistsESMO supports young oncologists in their careers in many ways, including offering them fellowships and grants.
The aim of the ESMO program for young oncologists is to encourage participation in, and subsequent activation of, projects, which will benefit both the fellows in their professional careers as well as the oncology community in their home countries.
Thanks to support from ESMO, young oncologists have the opportunity to gain research experience in outstanding European institutes and to obtain a clear perspective on future research potential.
Centers that host fellows have the chance to profile their institute and to disseminate information on their areas of research, treatment, and care, that can both inspire and guide fellows in their careers.
"I myself greatly profited at the beginning of my career from fellowships and grants. To this day, I am grateful to those who supported my research, which otherwise would not have been possible."
José Baselga, ESMO President, and 2005 ESMO Award recipient
